Hopetoun House

In the tranquil haven of Mount Martha, our architectural narrative unfolds with Hopetoun House, a serene melding of family living and nature's majesty. Designed as a constellation of pavilions, this residence is a thoughtful composition for a three-generational family, harmonising private sanctuaries with communal bonds.

The siting of Hopetoun House was an act of architectural reverence, meticulously positioned to embrace the site's striking vistas while ensuring each pavilion basks in the northern light. The ensemble, featuring the main residence and a distinct outbuilding, converges around a courtyard, where a tranquil pool mirrors the sky, becoming the heart of family life.

Our material palette whispers a dialogue with the environment – the velvety charred timber cladding melds into the verdant landscape, and the contrasting modernity of standing seam metal cladding weaves a contemporary rhythm.

Hopetoun House is not merely a home; it's a landscape-integrated haven where architecture and nature dance in unison, creating spaces that celebrate light, views, and the intimate tapestry of family living.
